Sashiko Jacket 007 by SashiCo & Keiko Futatsuya. ☆
This jacket is the one that introduced the first stage of our journey – the Sashiko workshops. Hitomezashi. Kofu (Vintage Fabric). Many people enjoy many types of interpretation of Sashiko, but the patchworking the Hitomezashi & Vintage Fabric into one unified piece keep surprising the world. Keiko’s Hitomezashi & Kofu Jacket is quite popular. We make it, and then a customer purchases it in a short period of time (3 Jackets sold in the last 5 years & 1 for Atsushi). Thanks to the people who understand the value of what we make, we can keep creating. For our Sashiko jacket, we would take the backorder to accommodate your preference and sizing – please understand that it will take about a year and more to complete. All Sashiko is done by hand-stitching. The one-of-a-kind in many meanings. The budget will be according to the preference – but estimate is about $5K. Please DM me when you “seriously” consider. ☆
Keiko will keep surprising the world. I can do Sashiko, but Keiko’s ability to make it into “one” is just beyond the words. ☆

Photoshooting while re-arranging our items from the lovely Sashiko workshop in PA. This Jacket gets many compliments for its beauty. We appreciate that. On top of the beauty, this Jacket has an important message (story) as well. Some say that Sashiko requires “a knot”. It is fine to use knots,…

The Japanese words you know may have a bit different meaning to the native Japan

2019年3月28日

The Japanese words you know may have a bit different meaning to the native Japanese people. In a process of translating Japanese to English, sometimes, the actual meaning gets to be altered. There is no other way around because there is no other way to express it, yet the more…

Absolutely stunning in terms of the finished article and how it looks, but also you can ‘feel’ the time, patience, love and consideration that is in every stitch, I can’t explain it any other way. It’s that element which make this – and all your work – so admirable, so desirable and so inspiring.
