It has been a year since I realized that I have to be a “loud voice” – otherwise

It has been a year since I realized that I have to be a “loud voice” – otherwise the culture will be repainted by ignorance. 5/3 and 5/4 in 2019, I remember I kept writing a LOT to explain what I do & express how I feel. A year. I have been writing since – 1 post per day is a goal. When I miss it, I try to accomodate by posting 2. So, probably more than 365 posts per year. One may wonder, “how much can you write in just one topic?”. Well, Sashiko is my life. It is endless. ☆
At the same time, I “gave up” on sharing everything on SNS. No matter how careful I become, some read “what they want to read”. So, I am sharing my honest insight on Patreon. As of now in Covid-19 situation, I am spending more time in SNS to protect Sashiko (Crisis can change the culture significantly). However, I will try to go back to Patreon as soon as I can and share more stories (As of now, about 80 stories that I have not written anywhere else). Your support on Patreon will be very much appreciated. I once expressed my feelings on giving up my activities of sharing Sashiko after the nasty conversation on a FB Group. Some shared their strong compassion to what I do, and Patreon is one place to share my gratitude. (Link to Patreon can be found from our profile).

My friend told me that Keiko’s “Natural Hand-Dyed Sashiko Threads” are unlawfully listed without our permission. In short, they are copying just the product page to scam customers. Although this product page (2nd photo) itself won’t hurt us much because they don’t have what Keiko makes, I wanted to make…

I am a Sashiko Teacher, yet I prefer not to be called a “teacher”. The essence of Sashiko doesn’t exist in Teaching. I know it sounds contradicting, but what I teach is really not the “Sashiko” itself – what I teach is a method or approach to find their “own”…

One of my big challenges in this crisis (paradigm shift period) is to lower my standard. I am a typical perfectionist, and I simply cannot compromise. Does it sound like what I am saying here? Yes, the message on SNS is toward myself as well. I am in the process…

I haven’t read or seen the discussions around Sashiko (I am new to this art form). But I suspect they may be similar to my art form which is rooted in culture, with history and technique that evolved over time for a purpose. I am just beginning my Sashiko journey and I love the detail and passion you bring to your teaching. Arigatou gozaimasu. 🙏
