A mansion in front of the clear beach. A luxury car to ask her out. Enough cash

atsushijp, 2020年12月30日

A mansion in front of the clear beach. A luxury car to ask her out. Enough cash to buy anything without checking the price tag. A fresh seafood market nearby. Then, a caring family with (an) innocent child(ren). They are all what I wanted to achieve in my youth. After 15 years, I live in a small house where Mennonite neighbors ride on a Carriage every morning (which is great!). I drive the least expensive car in the auto market to the store where I always check the price before purchasing anything (and look for sales). I haven’t had “fresh” Sushi for full 7 years. However, I feel happiness now – with my wonderful wife and our beautiful & innocent child.

☆

“Happiness(Love) is not something we can take or give. It is probably something we realize (when we are ready)”. After so many years, I finally understand this message. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. However, we can realize the happiness with less green grass – and one day, the grass may get greener.

☆

Sashiko existed in this “realization”- a long time before the phrase became famous. Their “want” were more primitive – food, cloths, house, and some “money” to survive, yet they realized their happines within many struggles and suffer. Therefore, I feel something strange when people seek for “happiness” with using the word of Sashiko – Sashiko itself is a mirror to help us realize the happiness in front of us. Sashiko can be the Art, but no one need to defend themselves by calling it “Art”.

Thank you for reading the article about my question “Is Sashiko (Fine) Art?”. I came to the conclusion that I would like to introduce the perspective of Sashiko as the Folk Art. This conclusion is as the “Maker(Stitcher)” of Sashiko. It is another story when an artist use Sashiko and…

It is not my intention to hurt anyone. So I spend so much time to reflect what I write – being mindful of what I say. Well. I am mindful and let’s see how the Sashiko culture is already “re-painted” in English. ☆ Sashiko is NOT a mending technique. Slow-Stitching…

As a Mennonite (modern, not old order) it warms my heart to read this, we too have a great love for mending and homespun textiles.

I looked at the size of what you wrote and thought: It’s too long to read …. I changed my mind and … I really liked what you wrote.👏

Dear friend, you don’t know me and I haven’t taken any of your classes (yet), but you should know that I look at your stitches and read your words and they bring me such peace and contentment: to know that there are people like you who value the simple and the kind and the wonder of the world. Thank you and a Happy New Year to you and your family! blessings from a friend far away in Missouri…
