I have a Facebook Group to share & enjoy the Japanese Sashiko (& Boro). It is sad that I have to say “Japanese” because Sashiko is a Japanese term. However, in the trend, many people use the word of Sashiko for their purpose without learning the origin. It happens because there is not much information available in their language. It is unfortunate, but I guess it is the world we live in. ☆
I feel responsible as a Japanese who was born in Sashiko & can speak English. I try to share as many stories as possible in English, but it is not as fast as the trend goes. Also, the “words (description)” is not strong enough to prevent cultural repainting. Instagram is a great place to share photos, but it is more like one direction. Patreon is a great place to share my honest & pure insight, but also mainly one-direction (although it is getting like a dictionary). I want the FB group as a place where people gather sharing their Sashiko, hopefully with an image. One rule is a respect to the Japanese culture & stories behind Sashiko. If you use FB, please try to find “Japanese Sashiko & Boro”. I hope the group will be a place for the “Japanese” Sashiko.

Follow-up Post about “Hand-Made” on 3/30. ☆ I didn’t mean to say that all of the housemaker (mostly parents, I guess) should prepare the handmade meal, otherwise love doesn’t exist there. I didn’t say that. As I received in the comment from @tuism (thank you), in this busy life to…

Thank you, I am reading through your articles and references about sashiko and cultural appropriation, and animism in sashiko. They are so beautiful and meaningful, thank you so much for taking the time to write them.
