I see “Sashiko as an Art” to ask for admiration – to express oneself throughout stitching. I start understanding how the trend interprets Sashiko. Some want to express their creativity through Sashiko. I enjoy the “strong beauty” in Sashiko. At the same time, I enjoy this type of “beauty in silence”. Some Sashiko may be a stage to show who they are. This type of Jakcet, for me, is a home to visit back. I will keep sharing the Sashiko we practice, in order to protect the place I can call “home” – Sashiko can be Art (Extraordinary), and sometimes Home (Ordinary). I believe this account shows both Extraordinary (playful mindset) and Ordinary (Tradition) – in Sashiko.

一目刺し。様々な古布への刺し子。自信を持ってお届けしている作品達です。同時に、一番”落ち着く”のは、点（針目）が走り線となり、線が集まってできる幾何学模様から作られる刺し子ジャケットです。これを「芸術」と呼ぶ人もいるとは思いますが、僕にとっては芸術という非日常ではなく、実家のような思い出の中にある日常です。どちらが良いという話じゃなく、「これを塗り替えられないように伝えていく」という意思表明のお話です。やっぱり帰る場所は守りたものですから。

一つ一つ手作りのジャケットなので、納期を頂ければサイズはある程度自由に調整できます。今の僕のように、「見て！注目して！！話聞いて！！」と自己主張が大切なのと同時に、この作品のように、職人気質の針目もやっぱり大切だなぁと思うのです。昨年繰り返した言葉ですが、「声が大きい人の主張だけが全てではないこと」を主張するために、今年も声を大きくがんばります。矛盾の種は常に含んでいるので、上手にバランスを取りながら。
