Traditional Shippou Pattern with a bit of improvisation of adding more circles, then completed as the Jackets. The Japanese prayed for the better life with the geometric pattern. For Shippou (七宝), the character means Seven Treasure, which I believe they prayed for the wealth for their family back in Japan. It is also known as the lucky pattern because the line goes continuously. The circle in Japanese pronounce “En” which also means a good relationship. Shippou has En (円 – En – 縁 – En – good relationship)continues. ☆
七宝を土台に、少し遊びココロを加えた刺し子ジャケットです。「似たような柄ずっと刺してて飽きないの?」と言われるのですが、これが不思議と飽きないのです。「もういっかぁ」と思っても、また戻ってこれる。刺し子は、やっぱりお味噌汁みたいなもんなんです。煮干し出汁のお味噌汁、飽きるほど毎日飲んでも、また朝になれば飲みたいでしょ。ってな感じで。3月、4月と展示会が続きます。頑張って準備しますっ!
