Thank you for the comments in the previous posts. I will reply to the comments accordingly. I feel the warmth in my heart. Sharing this warmth is exactly what I would like to pass down. You may be wondering what “Power of handcrafting” is. You may think it is something special for someone privileged. It is not. The power of handcrafting is something we already have. Anyone in this world has. I know that – it is so called, “Caring”. The photos are the “Reasons” of me continuing Sashiko. I clearly remember the day I had a life-changing experience. ☆
I was born in Sashiko family in Japan. However, the family business is not the one who taught me the power of hand-crafting directly (I learned a lot but not “it”). It was the Otsuchi Sashiko Project (@ootsuchisashikoproject), in which warm & wonderful people established after the 3/11 earthquake to support the Tsunami survivors. While me living in Otsuchi to support the project as the Sashiko professional, I learned a lot from them & the experience. I thought I was there to provide (teach), but it was me who was fulfilled by those survivors appreciated what I did. The experience there is the fundamentals of today’s activity as SashiCo. ☆
I had several lectures in Japan (and in the Netherland once) about this topic. Is anyone interested? I could do it over Live Streaming. When we enjoy hand-craft, we often think of someone. It could be someone you love, someone you are jealous, and that someone may be yourself. When we think “someone”, we care him/her/them. When we care, we support each other. The feeling doesn’t have to be positive, it could be negative. I want us to “re”member how to care more, instead of focusing on the “wealth” by “ignoring” the others. Hand-craft can do that. ☆
写真。僕の原点の写真です。配信でどれだけ話したか覚えてないのですが、僕（と恵子さん）が、今こうして刺し子を続けている大きな理由の一つが、大槌刺し子プロジェクトの存在です。少なくとも僕は、大槌（実際は遠野市に住んでたけど）での数ヶ月がなかったら刺し子は続けていないです。その時の気持ちは鮮明に残っていて。また大槌刺し子の話はしなきゃですね。僕は離れてもう長い間経ってしまっていますが、恵子さんは今でもアドバイザーとして関わり続けてくれています。刺し子って、「綺麗」だけじゃないんです。

大槌刺し子の皆さんの作品にはパワーがありますよね。作品を見ているだけでなんだか元気を分けてもらえる気がします😊
I feel the same about handcrafting. My work is not excellent like yours but it is done with my whole heart. I say in every stitch is a prayer for the person I am making it for or sometimes prayers for peace or kindness. All good thoughts into hand crafting makes each special.

@jamie6677 When you put your whole heart, it is as excellent as the any other arts we can imagine. When this world has so many caring people like you, we have less sad news, I believe. Thank you for sharing something special from the ordinary days 😀
@good_colour Yes. In hand-stitching, what we make can represent who we are (what we feel). When we care, the art can care the people, too. That’s where I would like to go with many people 😀
海外に住んでいる刺し子初心者です。刺し子のことをもっと知りたいという思いから、以前からフォローさせて頂いてます。震災ボランティアの際に遠野を拠点にして大槌へも何度か訪れることができました。今回の投稿を読んで、遠野の景色を思い出しました。原点の話をして頂きありがとうございます！
