Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

Sashiko has “already become” a trend. One advised me it is too late to share the “Sashiko (which Atsushi advocates)”. Well. Regardless. I cannot give up on my identity, right? I am a stone in a big trend stream. I really appreciate all the supporting comments for what I do. However, I also receive repulsion. I expected it, yet it is heartbreaking & stressful to receive negative energy. What I want to share is my own culture of Sashiko, yet it is so challenging to realize that I am a stone – I won’t be silent, though.
☆
In those pains from Sashiko, it is also the Sashiko that heals me. As much as I hated Sashiko in my childhood, now the Sashiko is what I depend on. I look at Sashiko stitching, and feel so encouraged. The Sashiko especially “we didn’t stitch”, which is stitched by my friends who I had shared the Sashiko with, is a Silver Bullet for my pain & stress. Many send me their achievements after their workshop/class. That’s why I can keep going. I appreciate this supportive circle. – I can keep going.

This is what I am working on the Sashiko Live Streaming (that I talk in Japanese). Yes, I share my “unedit” version of stitching while I talk something related to Sashiko. I stopped streaming in English because of 2 reasons. (1) a very few (or none) viewers & (2) very…

I have received many good feedback to the short video of Unshin (Needle Movement). Here is a long version of that. You may be able to find these Unshin video on our Youtube Channel as well. Search a channel named Sashi.Co. (Sashi.

It is a trend, and trends come and go. What you’re teaching will last much longer than this trend.

You might be but one stone, but you matter. Please don’t let the haters hurt you, they lash out because they can’t contain the hurt they are feeling. Sashiko is your healing feel good, it is already part of you, you are just letting it out. I’m very grateful you inspired me to learn. If anyone has no right to sashiko then that is me. The white anglo saxon heritage who is so far removed from that she doesn’t even have that heritage. I have no right to sashiko, but I do because I don’t feel my culture I follow my curiosity and sashiko calms my monkey mind, so I do it, just for me

Sorry to hear about ‘haters’ on you. Strange, how people are these days. However – aren’t there more admirers? You, a well of knowledge and inspiration for the admirers, and that is the important thing you should look at. Nobody is loved by everybody. And it’s the real experts who get the most criticism from smaller minds. If you consider yourself a rock, don’t feel bothered by the elephant rubbing against you. The elephant will disappear.

Words can and actually hurt. I know, that’s difficult to ignore. With age, you will understand that nobody but your opinion about yourself, it’s what really matters.. Always remember who you are, the path is different for everyone. There is so much evil in the world but there is so much kindness as well. Be strong, be true to yourself, one day everything will come together. You create beauty with your hands, don’t forget that❤️

I just followed your account and I’m inspired… since I am on a budget right now, I went ahead and ordered a little kit online to start! Of course, I’m also taking the steps to learn the history of what I am going to be working on to make it that much more special. Thank you for being that one stone in my life!
I hope to order fabric from you soon.
