A LOT of things changed. Many (including myself) go through the unexpected difficulty. Physically, Psychologically, financially, and conditionally, we face endless challenges in the new normal. For me, one of the most disappointing changes is that I do not see my Sashiko friends in person. Thanks to good friends in NYC who deeply supported me, I am sharing the Sashiko today. The pleasure of seeing them periodically became hard to arrange. I really miss sharing the time & getting advice from them for what I can do here in non-Japanese culture.

☆

I now can say with confidence that the Online Sashiko Class is a great option for anyone who wants to learn Sashiko. I try my best to arrange time to greet everyone over the Zoom. Many participants gave me great reviews. There is a benefit of learning it online (because the participant can choose the pace of learning). Well, however, my goal still exist to meet everyone in-person and share what we are with showing what we stitch. The actual pieces will communicate the integrity of who we are. My dream remains the same to organize a trip to Japan together in a small group (My Sashiko Tour 2020 is officially postponed).

☆

I cannot just complain to the new normal, though. I will do what I can do. I organize the 2nd Online Sashiko Gathering where people can gather, then stitch and talk online. The 1st one was a great success, and I hope to offer it periodically. As of now, due to high demand of requests, I only invite those who participate in the full-length workshop/class. If you are a graduate and interested in joining the gathering, please visit our website for more details (link available from the profile). If not, please consider taking the online class. It will be a beneficial learning especially if you plan to keep enjoying Sashiko for a long time.

Another great news about our Sashiko… yet, my condition (lost my voice) got worse and would need to take care of myself for a while. I will share the great news as soon as I feel better. ☆ 2019-08-12 20:47:31…

Happy ThanksGiving. I am happy that I could spend the day with my mother, my wife, and my daughter, the 3 generations of ladies I care. ☆ One of the message I share during my Sashiko Workshop is that Sashiko is a form of “Caring” to someone you love. The…

Sashiko on Denim Fabric (distressed-effected to soften the fabric). Good Denim is another important aspect of our Sashiko. 2017-02-09 00:55:01 Source
