Sashiko Live Streaming, August 28th

A Sashiko Live Streaming with “Mending”. Yes! I believe this is the most popular topic now in the word “Sashiko”.

Sashiko was used in a mending – however, Sashiko doesn’t always equal to mending. I only mend the garment when it is necessary, so it is a rare case for me to have this big hole to mend. (I explained why I have this big hope on this pants.)

Since I need to use my brain to stitching through, I talk less than usual. However, it is my intention to leave a video/scenary of someone mending a pants with Sashiko stitching, without any editing or modification.

I plan to continue this mending project only on Live Streaming  (both Instagram & Youtube). I hope you can learn how I would do the mending by following the unedited video.

Japanese Noren (暖簾)- (A store curtain) for a small exhibition of Keiko’s work in Gujo. We try to follow the traditions as much as we can. We simply would like to respect how it used to be done. ★ 2018-08-27 16:33:41 Source

I often say “Sashiko(Boro) is NOT ___”. For example, I say, Sashiko is NOT a word for (visible) mending (although mending is an important part of Sashiko). When I say “Sashiko is NOT___”, some immediately demand answers and definitions saying, “then what is Sashiko?”. I understand their need in their…
