atsushijp, 2019年6月15日

As Sashiko gets popular in recycling the fabric, I sometimes receive a question about my opinion regarding “pollution from fashion industry”. I am not an ecologist. I respect the fashion industry to enrich the human life. So, my opinion is nothing eccentric = I hope we can find a solution where we can respect both innovation in fashion and to the earth.
☆
I don’t have a good deep understanding of “pollution” to discuss in terms of resources. However, I am keen to advocate the possible pollution of “human mind.” The Internet is the greatest innovation in human beings. I love it and cannot live without it. However, I would like to be aware of the risk of being polluted by “convenience”. The Search Engine can give us an optimized information from the database. Then we choose what to read. In contrast, there are many wisdoms that requires humbleness and respect in a process of learning. Unlike google SE, I am not an algorithm. ☆
I receive a lot of questions like “I cannot do what you do. How do I do that” without even saying “Hi”. I will no longer answer these questions. Well, after all, these rude people do not read what I write… An example. Let’s say you worry now if you offended me by reading and leaving comment here, then please don’t worry because I believe you have not. I am pretty sure that the people who offend me think that they don’t offend me – so difficult to share the idea in this individualistic world – and therefore I keep trying.
☆
I believe, when we become “attentive”, we can one-step forward to be kind to the environment as well. Instead of taking drastic action, we can be attentive to what we do to protect the earth as well as ourselves. :(By the way, as I introduced on our website “an article – No More New Cloth”, I stopped purchasing the cloth in 2017. Let’s see how this “drastic action” change my actions 🙂

One of my big challenges in this crisis (paradigm shift period) is to lower my standard. I am a typical perfectionist, and I simply cannot compromise. Does it sound like what I am saying here? Yes, the message on SNS is toward myself as well. I am in the process…

In my childhood, I always wanted to be someone else. I didn’t want to be just a (boring) stitcher. I wanted to be someone important to help this world. Well, after all, I am a Sashiko artisan today. I stitch the Sashiko I thought was boring. My mother Keiko has…

I still feel under the weather continuously… Although I do not share a post everyday, nothing is different. I share Sashiko Stories for the future. Sometimes, I find a misunderstanding about us that we work for “someone”. It is interesting to know how “the others” view us – we rarely…

Te leo y me identifico sobre tu opinión del ambiente. Somos adultos y debemos saber cuando lo hacemos mal. Pero hay gente que prefiere no escuchar. Tu trabajo en esta prenda me parece precioso!!!!

This is a great initiative, I agree with you, many times, I look at my clothes, and say, “it’s not good to give to charity, it’s such a waste in the bin
