We never waste the thread even when we end up with having “non-commercializable color”. We are preparing to provide more of those “No-numbered (One-of-a-Kind)” Sashiko thread available for sale. They could be like these cute thread bobbins.

It is significant to use the good quality thread for Sashiko. Some say the original message of Sashiko is “using whatever we already have – recycle”. I personally do not think so. Sashiko is a form of stitching to care (revive) the fabric (with stories) – not to recycle what we have in the boxes. In order to care the fabric with good stitching, the good quality thread for the Sashiko purpose is must to have. Introducing how good our supplies makes difference is one of my ways to appreciate the Japanese wisdom and industries which try to pass down to. It isn’t a thread from local chain store for a buck. With big skein of 145 meters (in regular thread), it is a reasonable investment to enrich the Sashiko project. ☆
I have some articles about “why” we use our Sashiko thread. We just don’t call it Sashiko thread because it gets attention. We call it “Sashiko thread” because it is a crystal of wisdom.

ゼロから再始動した数年前は、どんな糸も自分の作品に使ってきました。今でもその気持ちは変わっていないし、糸は無駄にはせずに使っているのですが、「（無番の）カセにはならないけれど、決して見劣りしない糸たち」を、ある方の協力を得て糸巻きにすることができています。ある程度の数ができたら、びっくり箱的な感じで販売できたら良いなぁと思っています。

刺し子糸の草木染め。10年近くの経験が積み重なってきました。様々な新色が出てはいるのですが、まだまだご紹介できずにいます。「無番（一定数の同じ色がでなかった為、番号がつかなかった糸）」をご購入頂いた中で、「この色がもう一度欲しいのだけど」という希望があれば、ご遠慮無く連絡下さい。再現できるお約束はできないのですが、挑戦させて下さい。そこから新しい色が生まれる可能性もあるので。
