From my experience, I would say, “hand-crafting” can communicate who the creator really is. The same goes for Sashiko stitching. I would rather teach the basics and then let them find their own stitching than molding the learner to one specific “type”. The basic form is important – however, it is up to the creator after mastering the basics. It is one of my biggest achievements in 2019. I have met many students internationally (in-person & online), and they already start finding their own Sashiko. I cannot be more happy & proud of their own Sashiko stitching. Sashiko is just a simple form of hand-stitching – and, therefore, it tells us who we really are. ☆

2019年。これまで夢見てきたことが形になった一年でした。運針会というご縁を頂いた皆様と一緒に作った野良着。ご縁を頂いた方と一緒に踏み出した一歩。運針は、その単純さ故に、時にその人そのものを映し出す鏡になったりします。勿論熟練度による上手下手はあるでしょうし好みもあるのですが、その結果以上にふと、「ふむ……」と何かを訴える針目や運針に出会うことがあります。昔は「俺の思い違いや幻想かなぁ」と思ってた頃もあるのですが、多くの実際に会ったことが無い人の運針を定期的に拝見するようになり、幻想じゃないな……という結論に至りました。

同じ姿勢、同じ形、同じ道具で行う同じ運針でも個性がでます。Nanaさんの運針動画と僕の運針配信、是非、見比べて見て下さい。同じ運針なのに、「あれっ？」と違いを感じられる事と思います。敢えて僕はどう違うのかは今は語りません。でも、何かを感じ取って頂けたら嬉しいです。優劣じゃないんです。上手下手でもない。好みを核に置いた十人十色の素晴らしさです。運針会にてご縁を頂いて、その後もご縁を頂けている皆様の運針（僕が今でも拝見できる運針）は、どれも素敵で面白いです。是非、様々な方の運針を楽しんで頂ければ幸いです。
