I appreciate those who answered my Question on Story the other day about “How did you find this Account”. It was quite interesting to see a variety of answers, including the one I really didn’t expect (like reddit – I was on Reddit?).

As I share Sashiko Stories frequently, it may be difficult to grasp my messages especially when one just found out about me. A journalist interviewed me with care & respect on what I would like to say, and the video is available on BBC. (https://www.bbc.com/reel/video/p0gl796s/japanese-sashiko-the-art-of-stitching-stories)

It is, of course, impossible to summarize all of my messages into one video clip. However, thanks to the journalist, it is a good introduction of who I am & what I want to do. The message on writing can be quite strong – like “Sashiko Introduced in English is not wrong, but insufficient”. In order to deliver the message, it has to carry the criticism somehow. However, my message isn’t really about the criticism, and more importantly – not about “Exclusion”. I am speaking up to “include” as many people as possible. I can share this “inclusion” when I see them in-Person (workshop or Online Class Session). Not possible for everyone at this point – so the video on BBC & Sashiko Live Streaming on Youtube would be the best way to start introducing my messages. I will link the URL on Story/Highlight. I hope the video communicates something more than just technique & design.

日々これだけの分量を書いていて、しかも過去の文章からのコピペはしないという信念で続けているので、「結局の所…」をひと段落でまとめようとするのは大変な作業になります。似ている内容の投稿は存在しますが、だからといって開き直って毎回同じことを書くのも気が進みませんし。そういう時に「要約」として、昨年BBCにて紹介頂いたビデオを紹介するようにしています。本質が伝わっているかは不明ですが、それでもわざわざ自宅まで来て取材をして頂いた上でのメッセージなので、的外れにはなっていないと思うのです。
