I imagine, more than hundreds of years ago, in a small village in Japan, Japanese women got together and stitch. Were they so particular about their stitches? I don’t think so. They stitched for the purpose of “surviving”. They stitched alone sometimes and waited for the day got together. They got together to “talk about their days (pretty much complaints, I believe)” while stitching. In this shared space, over the “ordinary habit”, they developed so many beautiful patterns and Sashiko pieces. They enjoyed stitching while they enjoyed talking – not focusing on the stitching itself of how beautiful they were. The Sashiko I teach lets you talk while stitching with good speed, as the Japanese women probably did. “Stitch and Bitch (about life)”. This may be the Sashiko I adore the most, and that’s what I do over my live-streaming. ☆

I follow your work with interest👏😌
This is stunning !!!!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! I have a small haberdashery shop in Spain , where we have knitting , crochet, sewing , … classes , and people get together to talk about their days, their families , their problems … it’s like a therapy . Get together to do something you like and being able to have that freedom to talk about anything is what they really want … Wish you were near us to teach Sashiko here 😢
Congratulations on your amazing work 💕💕💕💕💕💕
