Over the Internet, it became easy to “ask” questions. My goal is to introduce what Sashiko is, including the enjoyment of Sashiko & beauty of its culture. So I answer the questions as much as I can. However, one of the Japanese craftmanship was to steel (learn) the technique by just looking at them (without any proper answers)

I am aware that I will adjust to the needs. At the same time, I want people to understand the origin of Sashiko & Japanese Craftmanship. I am not saying the person has to only look at our work to learn… I am saying, there is already a lot of information (articles and tutorials) available on our web & our Youtube Channel, including how to draw these beautiful traditional patterns. ウェブサイトや配信、NYCでの活動等を通して「刺し子の楽しさ（とか）を伝える」中で、「知りたいこと（情報）は聞けばいい」と思っている人が多いんだなぁと。勿論、タイミングが合えば質問には答えますし、そういったやり取りから広がる部分もあると思うのだけど、日本の職人的な「見て盗む（学ぶ）」という文化は、もう時代遅れなのかなぁとも思ったり。寿司職人の10年についても、少し前に論議されてましたもんね。個人的には、「技術だけ」を習得した職人には惹かれません。どれだけ綺麗で完璧な職人芸でも、そこに人間臭さがないと、どうも「ん？」となってしまう。

技術と考え方、どちらが伝えやすいかと言えば、もちろん技術なわけで。伝統的なものに関しては、公知の技術（知識）も沢山あるので、そういったものは、どんどん伝えて行きたいと思っています。ただ、情報や知識は、探しに来て欲しいとは思うけれどね。

うんうん、自分の力で技術や知識を得ようという想いがあればこそ上達に繋がり、そういう積み重ねや想いがあるからこそ人を惹きつける作品になるのでは？と思います。
今は画像で学ぶ、画像でし知る、画像で、聞く、が主流ですよね、人から学ぶのとは違うと思う。どんな手仕事でも、さじ加減とか、素材によるとか、っていうのは、その物や、人の言葉からの伝達が大きいと思う…
