Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

Over the Internet, it became easy to “ask” questions. My goal is to introduce what Sashiko is, including the enjoyment of Sashiko & beauty of its culture. So I answer the questions as much as I can. However, one of the Japanese craftmanship was to steel (learn) the technique by just looking at them (without any proper answers)

I am aware that I will adjust to the needs. At the same time, I want people to understand the origin of Sashiko & Japanese Craftmanship. I am not saying the person has to only look at our work to learn… I am saying, there is already a lot of information (articles and tutorials) available on our web & our Youtube Channel, including how to draw these beautiful traditional patterns. Our web can be reached from our profile, and Youtube Channel is “@Sashi.Co” the same as Instagram Account. Enjoy Sashiko 😀 – I am working on arranging the website. Give us until the end of 2018.

Many wonder… “What is the difference between Sashiko & other Stitchery?”. My answer is simple: “There is no difference in Stitchery”. Needlework exists(ed) everywhere. I am pretty sure that your ancestor stitched for their survival at some point. Your stitchery probably had a name, but gone over time. My stitchery…

700 days. I made myself write a story per day. In May 2019, I learned the concept (pain) of Cultural Appropriation. When I say, “the information you know about Sashiko in English is insufficient”, I felt a sort of “responsibility” to explain why it is not enough. I believe I…

Please imagine a dish you often enjoy. It can be Pizza, Salad, wings, Soup… anything you often enjoy, or even feel tired of having as you have so often. Let’s say you eat “Salad” everyday. (I used mac & cheese in a BBC video, but here I use Salad). Your…
