One of our life-changing opportunity was with “Otsuchi Sashiko” after 3/11 earthquake. The time in Otsuchi (severely damaged town by Tsunami) taught me the power of hand-crafting. We have been providing our experience with them, and we just received the great news that they will re-make the “All hand-stitched Japanese Noragi” made by Otsuchi Sashiko. ☆
Keiko visited them many times and taught them how to make it. We are very happy that someone understood the value, purchased it, and therefore they can move on to the second production. This will motivate them more, and will encourage them to keep going. ☆

大槌刺し子の刺し子野良着。追加制作が決まったとの嬉しいニュースがありました。本来、刺し子は個人で完結するものが多くて、この「沢山の方の刺し子を一つの昨日にする」というのは、大槌刺し子の成り立ちならではの形です。その刺し子の可能性が眩しくて、大槌刺し子以外でも「沢山の刺し子への思いを一つにするプロジェクト」を始めましたが、時期を同じくして追加制作とのこと。本当に嬉しいです。「正解か間違いか、上手かどうか、やり直しするかどうか、優れているか劣っているかどうか、早いかどうか」を超越した作品制作です。全ての個性が、必要な”一部”になります。駄目な刺し子もなければ、誰かより一段優れた刺し子もない。ある程度のお手本となる刺し子があり、あとは好きかどうかだけなのです。
