March 11th, 2011. It has been 9 years since the earthquake. I joined a Sashiko Recovery Project (@ootsuchisashikoproject). The kindness I have received there changed my life. I thought I went up north to support the people there, however in reality, I received so much kindness from them. I know we “can” be kind even in the crisis. In fact, it shows who we are in the crisis – and the experience there taught me the beauty of who we (humans) are.

Thanks to many people who choose the future of Otsuchi Sashiko, the people there are stitching Sashiko today, tomorrow, and in the future. I know the power of “caring”. It is not from books (I love books). The time with beautiful people taught me the power – I will never forget the day of 3/11, and days I had stayed with them. I wrote some articles on Patreon about this life-changing experience. It will absolutely be a chapter when I write a book. And, as I keep saying, you will be a part of our future by making your own choice. Thank you for your “caring” all the time here. ☆

People live today as if tomorrow will come no matter what, and I believe they should. However, because of my unique experience, I don’t share the same “ordinary”. I live as if tomorrow will not come, and I feel a lot natural with that. It isn’t a matter of good…

I am NOT asking/expecting you to agree with me on what I share all the time. Of course, I would like you to agree with & like me. However, since I sometimes say something strong, I understand if you disagree. The voice from another culture is occasionally uncomfortable to take…

The beautiful Vintage fabric is the best material to make repurpose bag by itself. We intentionally do Sashiko on it with risking we may influence its original beauty. Well, we enjoy this adventure with Sashiko. 2017-09-04 06:45:12 Source
