We live in a very different world now, even compared to the “normal” I grew up with 30 years ago. We can access all kinds of “answers” in a moment – we can find the answer we want to get when we keep looking for & ignoring other inconvenient information. Before the Internet, it would require “research”, or at least a good amount of reading or visiting people to learn from. To learn itself was a sign of to acknowledge, to respect, and to commit it. Therefore, we respected the “masters”. Who are the masters now? It is quite difficult to distinguish it as anyone can refer to themselves as masters. It has become the learners’ responsibility to be mindful. Or… the practice will be lost at some point.

In the near future, AI will play a bigger part of productivity. We probably do not need to learn other languages, or even our own language to read books because “AI” can summarize it for us. AI will generate the best answers for those who wish to learn Sashiko based on the notes from those who advertise themselves as masters. Unfortunately, humble & actual masters will not be included in this as even super “AI” cannot generate the answers from non-spoken contents, or lost dialogue.

To be honest, I don’t know what I can do. Only thing I feel is that I want to leave something I valued so much behind for someone who I care about. How? I don’t know the best way to do so. In a big trend of Sashiko, my voices are eventually whitewashed. Therefore, I decided to leave “anything” behind – and one approach is Live Streaming. Every Thursday night at 9pm, I will share what Sashiko really is for us.

近い未来、「AI」が当たり前になる日がくるんだろうと思っています。「AI」はとても便利です。どれだけ長い難解な文章も要約してくれるし、的確な指示においては、必要な情報も効率よく見つけてきてくれます。翻訳も、プログラミングも、もしかしたら「読解力」すらも必要のない未来がきているのかもしれません。（というか、多分来る）。

「AI」にできないことはなんだろう？と考える人も多いはずです。それが仕事になりうるから。でも、きっと「AI」はほとんどのことをできるようになります。例え刺し子でも。では「AI」では難しいことはと考えると、それは「残されていないものを発掘すること」だろう…と。声が残されていないものに関して、それを再現する為に先人の声を聞きに行ったり、学んだり…ということはできないのではないかと。「AI」が当たり前になる未来。きっと声が大きい人の言葉が正解になり定義になります。今、何ができるかはわかりません。ただ、その時に拾ってもらえるように少しでも何かを残しておきたいのです。私にとって配信での言葉は、その「拾ってもらえる小さい石みたいなものなのかもしれません」。もう少しで配信します！
