SNS is a risky place to be completely honest. I learned it the hard way, and I opened Patreon, understanding that “haters”wouldn’t sign-up. It has been a very safe place for me to be honest & I really appreciate the (financial) support there so we can focus on Sashiko & Sharing stories.
☆
In the last few posts, I shared “How to approach the conflict/dispute/argument” in different culture.it still isn’t my intention to mention someone specific in identifying the issues. So, I shared it on Patreon. A comment there suggested that I share the article as it explains well about C/A. With specific examples, it can be elaborated easier. I have been wondering if it is okay to make it available to everyone, though.
☆
First, I wanted to be fair. I notified my concerns to “them” as Comments. I got a reply. so I hesitated to make the article open. I received a question there from someone else, then I realized I cannot find the posts I left the comments on. In this case, I have to assume that my comments are hidden because it is inconvenient to them. It is one form of C/A, ignore & suppress the voice from Origin. Therefore, the article is available to the public now. I hope this article will help the mainstream to understand how/why C/A can happen & can cause major issues.
☆
It ask everyone to be a Member to avoid trolls. It is free to sign-up, and you can opt out anytime. You can leave the comment there, or here, or anywhere for that matter. I am NOT a strong believer of Cultural Appropriation – but it does exist & I consider this case as the C/A. Please visit Patreon to read “Edited Version of Sashiko Story 207 for All Members” (https://www.patreon.com/sashiko). PS: I am pretty angry.

Well… some took my “question (wondering)” as “questioning (criticizing)” them. It happens when they read what they think I would write. I pulled a trigger for something they suffer so that they start firing at me – it won’t shut me up though.  ☆ Being a Japanese will not secure…

I had such a great time in Brooklyn last weekend for the Sashiko Workshops. As always, I am a bit burned out after the big matters to me. This time, I took days off to focus on recovery first. @loopoftheloom displayed our item so nicely. I feel like our Sashiko…

One of my core messages I want to deliver is the importance of acknowledging the “Upstream”. Intangible items such as Wisdom & Knowledge are difficult to “protect”. Or, as they are public domain, it is even silly to think of “protecting” them. However, it is an absolute fact that these…

Thats disappointing to hear.. the fact that she deleted your comments suggests that she is not interested in any dialogue

Have you tried looking at her reels page instead of main feed? Looks like it’s still there to me.
