Sashiko Vest from my old memories. This type of Sashiko – patchworking with colo

atsushijp, 2024年8月12日

Sashiko Vest from my old memories. This type of Sashiko – patchworking with colorful fabric – existed many decades ago. Way before it became a trend in sustainability, we enjoyed & appreciated the fabric to apply to our ordinary days.
☆
It is always nice to see the items I saw in my childhood. We & our business came pretty far from where it used to be, but I hope that we carry their spirit within us. I know my mother Keiko carries the spirit, and we try to follow her as much as we can. All of the items we offer (sell) carry the spirit. Even a skein of Sashiko thread will be a great part of the Sustainability we have been appreciating for decades… and even more than a half century.
☆
The Threads, Tools, and what we use make a significant difference in the Sashiko practice. It can be costly in comparison to other brands. However, there are reasons behind the prices, and more benefits behind the reasons. I explain everything on @SashikoStory and Youtube (SashikoStory Channel). Before following someone’s ignorance saying “Oh, whatever thread (tools) are fine in Sashiko”, or incorrect information offered by non-Japanese Sashiko Artisans, please learn more about what we offer. Your acknowledgement can sustain the Culture which has been making this type of beautiful vest.
☆
*I may price this vest later on. Please follow this account & check https://sashikostory.com . The question is how much would (should) I price it…

懐かしい作品です。おそらく家業で作られたもの。様々な布の切り替えは昔から存在していて、様々な試みが繰り返されてきた分野でもあります。懐かしくて不思議な気持ちになる(笑)
