Upcycle Stitches is a For-Profit Business Entity. We sell Sashiko Supplies, such as Threads and Fabric, as well as the Tools such as Needles. We only sell what we use. I believe it is the beauty of the “Artisan Owned” business. It became rare to find a shop where the Artisans/Artists do the business as part of their main activities. (After all, business isn’t easy to do as a side. Therefore, when one has a fixed expenses to pay, they tend to focus on the business rather than creation. It is very understandable & therefore I minimize the fixed expense).
☆
One flaw of the “Artisan/Artist Owned Business” is that the owner is the creator, too. They often prioritize their creativity & preference over “What would make profit”. I have a very specific taste for the Natural Dye Color & Some of Sashiko items made by some Sashiko Artisans I admire. I try to make a business out of it, but it often ends up with me “hoarding” them for the possible future project, which I hope many creators would understand.
☆
As I would need a bit of cash for this summer, I decided to offer some of the “Collection” I kept for my future usage. These are 10 skeins of Natural Indigo Dyed Sashiko Threads with 5 shades of “Green”. Keiko, who dyed the threads, mentioned that she may/will not be able to recreate the same color. So, I kept it. As I do not have a specific plan to use them at this point, if someone wants to try to utilize it, it is better for the threads, too.
☆
I may list similar items on our new website over this summer to make ends meet. If you are looking for something very rare & special, please check it out our new website: SashikoStory.Com (https://sashikostory.com/products/igs-sashikothread)
