I stated, on @SashikoStory, that all the fabric has the possibility of being “Boro”. It probably clarifies what Sashiko & Boro are. A process of adding stitches to a piece of fabric is called Sashiko (in broader definition). It is the beginning of a journey of the fabric with meeting many different fabrics. After a long & inspirational journey, the fabric will reach to one place right before the end of its journey. The point where they stopped, we call it “Boro”.
☆
This analogy of Boro may also clarify the reason I keep sharing the importance of Sashiko Thread & Needles. Sashiko is just a start of the journey of its fabric. Therefore, it is important to have the suitable threads & needle for its possibly long journey, like you would like to have a good Food & Vehicle for the long great journey.
☆
It is true that “whatever threads & needles” are okay for Sashiko. However, people who offer this type of advice often do not know the existence of this “journey”. We keep using the specific threads & needles as we know it is just the beginning of the journey, and I want the owners/users to enjoy the long-lasting & pleasant journey with our Sashiko.
☆

To balance myself, I try to have more time to stitch in 2022. I have a dream that many craftsmen also have: to make a living just by “making”: which is quite challenging for me in Sashiko. After all, this account @UpcycleStitch is for “business activities’ ‘, which requires the…
