This is a photo from Sashiko Japan Tour 2023, where we introduce ourselves in-person, in a gathering of Sashiko Artisans within Japan & Tour members. It was my first time going back to Japan in 10 years after going through a lot of things. As some of the participants there mentioned, it was like a miracle to have these smiles. It is my sincere pleasure to be able to offer the similar Sashiko Japan Tour again in 2024, with hopes to continue it regularly.
☆
As I always state here, some of the “Japanese Sashiko” are already buried in history. It is not only well introduced, but also it may be ignored. It is unfortunate, but it is the reality of this “trend” in English. It requires a lot more energy to revive it. We need a strongly committed person to do so. Fortunately, our Sashiko isn’t fully buried yet. For me is an opportunity to ask you to be a part of our Sashiko’s legacy. Sharing not only stories but also the Time (experience) with those who keep stitching “Today” will explain what Sashiko really is to us.
☆
In this tour, I prioritize the experience & comfort in this tour. – so I understand that this tour isn’t for everyone from a cost perspective. I will try to offer opportunities to be part of this journey online, too via sharing platform. At the same time, if you can afford, this will be the best opprotunity to learn Sashiko throughout from me. All the participants in 2023 shared their great experience in Japan – some described it as One of the Life Time Moment. So if you are thinking of learning our “Sashiko”, please consider this tour as your retreat. Start with learning Sashiko Online in advance of the tour (if they haven’t yet with [Core & Essence]), then apply your passion & interest in Sashiko while embracing the great time in Japan, together. I will be there to support your learning of Sashiko.
