In my Workshop, I often talk about how I keep our Sashiko Thread in braiding shape. As I often work on White Threads, I didn’t have many chances to take photos of what I meant. So here is a photo of all 15 Color Threads that I used for Furoshiki on @SashikoStory.

☆

Each skein has about 145 meter length. It is a quite big amount of threads. Even with Unshin, it can last for 20~30 hours. 15 colors of 145 meters… that can be a year’s worth of Sashiko Thread even for those who stitch regularly. Sashiko Thread Matters. Thread Matters when it comes to Sashiko. Some say it is okay to use any threads in Sashiko, but it isn’t true when they want to make a good result (they can use any threads, of course, but it makes a difference).

☆

To Keep the thread in a good shape, you may want to follow a few simple steps. I teach that in the workshop or in Domestika Course, and you can find the piece of information on our Youtube Channel for free of charge. It isn’t something I teach to make my ends meet – it is something I considered public domain.

☆

Knowledge is Power. Not only to enrich your stitching, it also helps to preserve the culture itself. I appreciate your interest & understanding of why we are so in love with these threads. (All 15 Color Sets Deal is available here – please choose an option based on the numbers of skeins you would like to have: https://upcyclestitches.com/store/Sashiko-Thread-A-Great-Deal-Package-p105662171).
