I will be visiting Bennington, VT from April 11th to April 14th for Sashiko Workshop Opportunity. Big Thanks to Bennington Collage Painting & Drawing Department, I will be hosting an hour long Lecture & Trunk Show about Sashiko. I believe it is open to the public & free of charge – so if you live nearby, please consider spending a Sashiko Night with me.
☆
After so many years of struggling, I finally learned the importance of repeating the same message. I didn’t like repeating the same thing as I thought I bore the audience. However, many people told me that they can always learn something new even when they hear the exact same story, same lecture, and even the same workshop. For that, I won’t hesitate to repeat the same lecture – and here is one great opportunity to do so in Person.
☆
As I shared on @SashikoSory account, I am not really well-designed to be on the stage. However, this is the time for me to dance to share what “Sashiko” really is – and how different it is from the Sashiko introduced today in English. This is my first time visiting Vermont, and I am very excited to learn from the Community, Faculty, and Students of Bennington College & The Robert Frost Stone House Museum.

I share why it is so important to use the “Appropriate Sashiko Thread” in your Sashiko project. Thread does matter, and it is because of the purpose of stitching. If the purpose is different, then the Sashiko project requires different types of fabric. ☆ I have been longing to introduce…
