atsushijp, 2024年1月6日

The release of the Domestika Course [Introduction to Sashiko Stitching] was one of the biggest challenges I have taken. As you may have read on @SashikoStory, I have a very strong belief in Sashiko to preserve its form. Therefore, I had very big worries if the introductory course actually contradicted within my messages as I would have to “simplify” Sashiko somewhat to make it a 3 hour course. At the same time, it was a quite necessary step for me as I keep receiving a question asking for my recommendation where to start. A video, a visual Course, by a big craft course platform with passionate producers & crews, conveying my live messages with me actually talking to was the best way to make the “simplification” less simplified.
☆
Also, the mission of Domestika resonates with what I wished to do: to deliver the “learning” to anyone no matter where they live, what they have (or don’t have), and who they are. The pricing varies based on your country… but I am happy that I could offer the course for the price of about one “lunch” meal. My business, which requires me to work using my own time, needs to price items & teaching accordingly to make my end meet. At the same time, it is always my intention to share the Sashiko we practice to “as many people as possible” – Weekly Sashiko Live Streaming is one of the answers for that.
☆
The course is a somewhat simplified version of my teaching. It is an introductory course. It cost just an amount of lunch… yet the 3-hours of contents are full of stories. It is a good summary of @SashikoStory offers, and I hope that it will be a good starting point for anyone who wishes to enjoy Sashiko with respect to the culture. I am thinking of ways to offer it for those who cannot afford it, too. Somehow… I am thinking. If you wish to take the course now, please use the link below or link from the Story. It will help me to make another course on Domestika!

I want you (the world) to learn how to prepare the pattern on the fabric for Sashiko. At the same time, I understand the hassle to do so. It is time consuming, and more honestly, not so fun to do so in comparison to doing Sashiko (Sorry if you like…

Your course on Domestika is great! You transport a lot of context/story in the time and it feels like a good place to start. The affordability really means a lot too. Also I really enjoy your sense of humor in the videos.

This was a great beginner course & very reasonably priced. I appreciated you sharing so much information in such a short amount of time. I took it in addition to your online course & felt I had a fuller learning experience because of both. I anyone can afford it, the online course from upcyclestitches is the one to take but the Domestika lesson will certainly get you a very good start. Both will enrich your life.
