I keep forgetting to share this video on this account… The link (https://www.bbc.com/reel/video/p0gl796s/japanese-sashiko-the-art-of-stitching-stories) is a video filmed & edited by Alex Trowbridge, used on the BBC Article about Sashiko. The writing of the Article wasn’t based on the interview, so the message in the video is what I want to share about Sashiko with the world.

☆

All of the supplies & tools I am using in the Video are available for purchase. We are a small business (One-Person managed business) based in the United States. We sell what we use. We offer what the Japanese Artisans have been using. In the trend of Sashiko, there are many items while saying “It is Sashiko _____” – well, please check the stories behind it. Due to the popularity, the market is a mixture of gems & stones (as an idiom of The thread and thrum).

☆

As Sashiko is deeply connected to the Japanese Ordinary & its culture, there are always Stories behind. So are there stories for supplies & tools. Your support for the supplies & tools that the Sashiko artisans keep using is very much appreciated.

☆

Photo © Alex Trowbridge – I will make a Story of this post with the Link to the actual video.

I strongly believe in the importance of “supporting the rising artisans”. In the past, craftsmen were supported by the local community because of its necessity. The artisans became artisans because there were people who appreciated their craftsmanship. Industrial Revolution and following globalization offered a better standard of living, but the…

Another happy news to announce. The Sashiko Kinchaku (drawstring) bag, curated by Upcycle Stitches, stitched by Nana, welcomes its own debut. All hand stitched. Very well made for the usage of many years. I got questions, “What is Sashiko”? Well, there are many words to explain what Sashiko – but…
