I hope you had a Good Year of 2022, and wish you Happy New Year of 2023. We (as Upcycle Stitches) will not be taking days off for these days. I will be either stitching, or planning(preparing) what to stitch next. 2022 was a challenging year for me with many fortune & good memories – just “challenging”. I hope that I can share more of what I “love” in 2023 – As much as I offer the business here, I am one Sashiko artisan, and I am a type of “collector” – my collection of fabric, threads and stitching are growing every year (in fact, every day).
☆
If you are new to Sashiko, please visit our website & Youtube for learning “How to”. Then, learn why I am speaking up in this practice. Once you start enjoying/stitching Sashiko, please try to learn the stories to understand further via visiting @SashikoStory. There are always stories behind what we do – and your learning & using what we use (supporting our supply chain sustainability) means a lot to us! If you have been following us, I would really appreciate it! Please let me know how we are doing – I have a “Support Page” for those who purchased supplies/tools from our store. In that, you can find a Google Form to let me know how we are doing. Your support & feedback are always appreciated to continue this business & to pass down the practice of Sashiko we have been practicing. Thank you all for 2023. I hope you have a great New Year’s Day.

In between writing Sashiko Story, arranging (online) gathering, preparing the Sashiko Workshops, we made this kind of “Bookmarks” with leftover thread & scrap fabrics for this new year. It is indeed true that Sashiko is “stitching” to recycle the materials. It is very much against throwing away the thread/fabric we…
