I cannot stop myself from giving my best when it comes to “work” – and on this business trip, in the last 2 days, I pretty much used all the energy I had toward the end of each day… Not even a small energy to open the PC.
☆
I always get “nervous” when I work with others. They are so nice that they will try to reduce my anxiety, but the “worry” is something I cannot change – or even, something I do not want to change. I don’t know how much time we have left to share what Sashiko is for us. Every opportunity I receive can be the critical & final moment of us sharing Sashiko – and that’s how Japanese had stitched Sashiko, and ended up with Boro.
☆
There are probably better ways to “preserve” Sashiko if the goal is just being popular. However, I have a very specific challenge to describe what Sashiko is in English. Now, with many people trying to understand what we are doing, I see a possible future of our Sashiko being practiced after we are gone. When I accepted my fate, it became my faith. Another day or so to complete the work in this opportunity. One last squeeze of what I have.

“Sashiko is a good meditation. It calms me down and helps me to get out of the panic.” I often see this type of description about Sashiko online. For me, as one Sashiko practitioner who once considered Sashiko as “Curse” and cause of all my suffering, this on-going image of…

We use(d) many types of Geometric Patterns in Sashiko Stitching. There are reasons why we used the Geometric Patterns, and reasons become stories as we interpret. Stories create “meaning”. In the meaning, we sometimes can find a form of praying – one reason I enjoy Geometric Pattern & one definition…

This is lovely for the use of fabric and the artistic beauty of a wonderful art of Sashiko from Japan to the world. I enjoy your sharing.
