This winter, I am focusing on arranging another “Class”, which will be a supplemental class to my Online Sashiko Class. This new class is not “Advanced” – I may not even call it “Sashiko Class” because I do not consider most of the contents I mention in the class as “Sashiko”. It is similar to the rare workshop, “Application & Practice” – but it is more like a collection of small talks I do in the workshops – which I learned some teach as “Sashiko Class”. To be honest, “How to prepare patterns on the fabric” and “How to draw design/grid” shouldn’t be taught as “Sashiko Class”. Yes, we need to learn these to enjoy Sashiko more – but many other crafts use similar ideas & techniques – so it isn’t Sashiko specific.

☆

I have many videos for free on Youtube already for the topics that I do not consider Sashiko. Please find free tutorials there. On top of that, I am collecting “somewhat related” or “I didn’t know you didn’t know” topics as a class. The class will not be free, but much less expensive than the Core & Essence – which I really want everyone to go through.

☆

I decided to share some of the contents I am building on as a series – which is for free for a limited time. Please comment how it was “after” you watch it. You are welcome to copy & use the ideas, but since some may (or have done) make money out of this wisdom, I would like to know who is watching it. Please sign-up for the first news coming this weekend. It will be a short & rough video, but I believe I can pass down wisdom. Sign-up link from the profile. (If you are current or past “Core & Essence” students, please sign up (you probably know already… but just in case. If you are already on Patreon, you can find information there already. The general newsletter is different from this – please follow @upcyclestitches for the general newsletter.

On top of making “one of a kind” Jackets and bags, we also make the popular “Sashiko-like” items such as placemats with Asanoha-Patterns. They are all hand-made, so there isn’t the exactly the same items. However, making the very similar design with very simmilar quality is another important aspect in…

Sashi.Co Series in 2018. Plan started in 2017. Finally, Sashiko cushion covers came to USA. We got some cushion inserts and then they are ready to be purchased 🙂 All of them are hand-made in Japan. Similar designs are available but everything is one-of-a-kind. The stitches are different (although it…

It has been a year since I realized that I have to be a “loud voice” – otherwise the culture will be repainted by ignorance. 5/3 and 5/4 in 2019, I remember I kept writing a LOT to explain what I do & express how I feel. A year. I…
