One of the most important choices to make better stitches is “Thread”. Techniques & Posture (form) is important, but the choice of Sashiko thread make a huge difference. Ever since Sashiko became a big trend, many brand started offering their own Sashiko thread. I haven’t tried everything yet, but some of them are just using the word “Sashiko” to boost their marketing. Please learn who you are supporting: there are always reasons & stories why we call it “Sashiko” Thread. Thread matters in Sashiko by A LOT.
☆
A big manufacture can stabilize the supply availability. However, a size of manufacture do not always equal to the quality of items. In Sashiko thread, we use one specific manufacture – Coron – to secure our quality. Regardless of the skill, we all spend a enormous amount of time in stitching. It isn’t like a few hours… probably few “hundreds” hours in stitching. Don’t ruin your Sashiko by choosing the cheap thread. The true beauty of Sashiko exist in “Using” it, not right after stitching. If the threads get damage so easily in using, then it ruins the most important element of Sashiko. Sashiko Thread matters.

I tried to keep it as “old-fashioned” as possible, even in this “speed-oriented” society. Of course, I need to adjust. However, there are certain things that I would like to keep as is. One of the things is “how I get to know of you as a customer”. Before the…
