Happy New Year! Thanks to much support from many of you, I can continue our business with Keiko in 2022 as well. Since “sharing Sashiko Story” is a much bigger priority now, I spend a lot more time in the account @SashikoStory. It is deeply appreciated if you could learn with us, shop from us, and support us in any form.
☆
Sashiko has become very popular as a “technique” to mend the fabric, and possibly the world. I am happy that Sashiko, the ordinary practice I have received, is inspiring many people. However, due to the limited resources & tendency to demand for Instant Gratification, Sashiko itself has been filtered more than necessary. Since I am only one person in this business now, I need to ask for your mindful choice: to pass down the Sashiko the Japanese had (have been) practiced, not the Sashiko non-Japanese interpreted in their way. Upcycle Stitches is a place (company) where you can learn, purchase, and keep learning what Sashiko is for us, and eventually for you.
☆
I will keep sharing “Why” it matters to us. If you have a bit of surplus, please consider learning from us. If you cannot afford it, please watch as many videos as you can on our youtube without skipping it. There isn’t such a thing as “Short-Cut Summary”. Either personalized message or self-realization. Your support & attention will preserve the cultural practice of Sashiko. Thank you!

“All Different, All Good” is NOT an excuse to be okay with being unskilled. There are many Japanese Sashiko artisans who enjoy & practice Sashiko to be better. The concept of unifying the Sashiko from different artisans started way before I started sharing the Sashiko Stories on @SashikoStory. About two…
