Upcycle Stitches is a store to sell Sashiko items & supplies. We are a group of Sashiko artisans, and we teach Sashiko Online & In-person (before Covid). At the same time, we are kinda big nerd in Japanese fabrics (not a specialist – just love in a way that not many people understand). Yes, we collect (hoard) a lot of stuff.
☆
I decided to price some of those collections. It is good that I have something to offer to the world to make ends meet. This is NOT a vintage Katazome fabric. However, I believe, with good cares & using it, it will be a good vintage fabric later on. The Cotton 100% fabric made for casual Kimono with Indigo Dye & Katazome pattern with Crane & Kusaki. Just cutting & trimming the edge will make a good scarf. Of course, it is good for any patching, patching, and Sashiko projects.
☆
Katazome is very popular in the Japanese (vintage) fabric market. It is quite difficult to find a good Katazome fabric with reasonable price. At the same time, it is quite difficult to find the current Katazome textile artisans. I was fortunate to obtain this fabric. As always, One of a kind textile. Once it is sold out, I do not know how/when I can get it. I hope this fabric will be used in a good project & be a good Boro-to-be material in future.
