Thank you for your feedback & encouragement on today’s Story (It is under Highlight-Survey – Im sorry I haven’t replied all of the DM but read them). The biggest message I received is “Be who you are. Follow your heart.” I appreciate it. However, I am not sure who I am & what is my heart telling me “in this matter”. I am still wondering. If you know me in person or via Online Class, you can tell how “different” I am here. When I do not have to be “difficult”, I feel more comfortable in giving. That’s what I learned from my mother. That’s how I started – sharing everything with polite interactions – with hoping that we would have mutual respect.

☆

Unfortunately, my hope didn’t turn out so great. I made many mistakes. I got hurt very badly. Many unfortunate misinterpretations happened. As a result, I decided to “be as difficult as I can” on SNS. I do not want to repeat any of the misery I had experienced. I am still the same person in Class/Workshop where I don’t feel the needs to be difficult.

☆

I will probably not change here – reasons I need to be “difficult” still remain. However, I also understand the needs of “easy”. Happy and Stubborn. I wish I didn’t have to be difficult – but I am not that naive to ignore all the risks again. My goal is to share the Sashiko as is – not to be liked by popularity.

☆

If you prefer my “easy-going”, please follow my “business account”- @upcyclestitches as well. The goal of Upcycle Stitches is to try the best to make ends meet with Sashiko somehow, so I am nicer there (I guess). If you prefer “real” Atsushi, taking Class / supporting on Patreon is probably the way. I believe I keep who I am there (ask around an insight from people who knows me in person/Online Class).

☆

I will keep this account unchanged – and as many advised, I will follow my heart with wondering who I really am. Thank you for your time in the series of “wondering what to do”. I will go back to normal posting with sharing the Sashiko we practice.

Photoshooting while re-arranging our items from the lovely Sashiko workshop in PA. This Jacket gets many compliments for its beauty. We appreciate that. On top of the beauty, this Jacket has an important message (story) as well. Some say that Sashiko requires “a knot”. It is fine to use knots,…

Would you like to stitch the entire denim like this? Then, I strongly recommend learning Sashiko from us. Sashiko is getting its name for “slow-stitching” and “therapeutic-stitching”. I agree with that – it is therapeutic and slow (in comparison to machine embroidery). However, “stitching slow” is not the core of…
