Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

☆

When I see someone improving their Unshin in Sashiko, like stitching in a rhythm with holding more than 30 stitches on the needle, I get so happy that I cannot stop writing to them (I am so sorry for those who received my over-joy message). It is my goal to share what Sashiko is. It is my joy to get to know new Sashiko artisans who stitch exactly as we do. (Please check the Youtube & Online Sashiko Class for learning how we stitch in Sashiko).

☆

I felt lonely for a long time. Yes, I was surrounded by many Sashiko artisans in my life, but they weren’t my friends – big age difference & I respected them for Sashiko. Not many young people practiced Sashiko 30 years ago. You know how Japan was 30 years ago – the peak of the Japanese economy. Therefore, when I see someone stitching like we do, I feel like I got another friend. When a friend asks for something , it is natural to help them, right?

☆

I watched a video from my student last night. I was so tired that I couldn’t take shower. After watching the video, I got super happy and replied to them with a long email with as much advice as possible. I guess I am doing a good job in sharing the Sashiko we practice.

A whole size of Furoshiki (Japanese Wraping cloth) that I often work in front of camera during the live-streaming. No pattern pre-printed. No pattern in my mind. I simply enjoy the Unshin (the needle movement.) Let’s see how it turns out. — This is Wednesday, but I may not be…

Recently, I shared more of fancy & complex Sashiko Jacket. However, the simple Sashiko stitching on regular fabric can make a good Sashiko item, too, without spending so much money and time to find the vintage. ★ The best way to step into the beauty of “Slow-Fashion” is probably to…

We live in such a confusing society. One side defines what we do as the Art. Another group says that I am a whinger (as over-reacting & exaggerating). I always say that the principle of Sashiko exists in the Japanese ordinary. So, yes, for Japanese, Sashiko may not be such…

Use el traductor de Google, como yo hago. Funciona aceptablemente 😉.
