It is a dream of all of the crafters/artisans: to make a living by just “making”

atsushijp, 2020年10月12日

It is a dream of all of the crafters/artisans: to make a living by just “making”. I work hard to let Keiko focus on her creation only – and has been successful for the last 2 years thanks to the support I get. However, I occasionally wish that I also could just focus on Sashiko and nothing else (The dream came true last year as a format of 24 hours of Sashiko Live Streaming).

☆

Although it is not possible to focus on only Sashiko, I try my best to treat myself better. I do not focus on “business” as much as I should (or as much as others recommend me to do). I teach Sashiko only to those who come to me with respect. I do not “sell” many products (although I probably should…). I know it is a matter of balance, but I often wonder how I can achieve both – time to focus on Sashiko & making ends meet.

☆

Your support will help me to stitch more. The more I stitch, the more videos I can share. Purchasing supplies from us. Taking my Class/Workshops. Learn Sashiko on our Patreon Page. Those are 3 significant supports that I sincerely appreciate. If these three are not suitable for you, please read our posts mindfully. It shares a great amount of information. Please tell the others about us: what the “existing Sashiko artisans” think & feel. Your support & care will make “the Sashiko” alive in the future.

In the previous post, about “making knots or not” in Sashiko, I am NOT judging any Sashiko stitchers who choose to use the knots at the start/end of stitching. The Knots can be more secure in some projects like Denim Mending. Some tried the “no knots (Kasane)” style but didn’t…

I teach Sashiko “stitching”, but I ask them to not focus on stitching. While many find Sashiko “extraordinary”, I advicate the importance of “ordinary”. My Class is about learning how to “use” the tools and supplies so that you do not have to control them… or to be controlled by…

We sincerely appreciate the offers for help in the previous posts.
