Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

I have a dream. It is about Sashiko to be somewhat “Sustainable”. It is my goal to share what Sashiko is. It is my dream to sustain Sashiko today in the future. One of the biggest challenges in sustaining the crafting culture today is to raise the artisans – who are the main part of its culture. “Sashiko as a hobby” is great. However, “Sashiko as profession” will significantly help the culture itself.
☆
I am happy to introduce our new product line. This is Asanoha Sashiko Pillow (Case) – the first in-house brand item. They are all hand-stitched, but we will do our best to keep making the “same (similar)” items so that we can brand ourselves. The Sashiko stitching is done by the rising artisans who learned the Sashiko stitching from us. Although we ask Sashiko to the rising artisans, we do not compromise the quality.
☆
The item is available here: https://www.japanesesashiko.com/special-store
☆
It took about 3 years to launch this first item. It has been my dream, and this is the first step to make it happen. All the purchase directly support the rising artisans and the sustainability in Sashiko culture – the more professional artisans there are, the more beautiful Sashiko products will be available, I believe.
☆
We have only 2 items in stock as of now. However, more are coming soon. Also, we are happy to take back orders based on your needs – and of course, price can go down if the order is big.
☆
Being an artisan is easy – I enjoy Sashiko stitching, and I can do it forever. being a“professional” artisan and keeping the culture sustainable is the challenge. I am happy to one step forward to my dream. I sincerely appreciate your interest & support.
☆
