This is an archive of Sashiko Live Streaming in English, on Friday October 8nd.

I appcreiate many good questions on both Youtube & Instagram. I believe I read out loud the question before I answer the question.

I didn’t know the word & concept, “Cultural Appropriation”, until Spring of 2019.

I had to learn the impact of Cultural Appropriation when I was accused being “arrogant”, and some told me that “it is a freedom of choice, and Sashiko is the Art” when I asked them to respect the Japanese culture behind the word Sashiko.

Many worry about me when “Sashiko” is used in commercial situation.

Many ask me how I feel about those “usage” in Sashiko/Boro.

To be honest, I am okay “as long as they try to respect the Japanese culture”.

There are many articles & stories both on UpcycleStitches.com & our Youtube. Please check them out.

It was not the main topic of this Live Streaming. There were many interesting questions that I enjoyed answering. It would be great to learn from this educational Live Streamin on October 8th.

*I couldn’t talk about the topic of “Boro” I briefly mentioned in the beginning. I will do so in the next Live Session.

Almost completing the shipping of Fukubukuro within Japan. Since it is all prepared individually, it takes a long time to make one shipment. We believe this “long process time” isn’t bad, especially for the Fukubukuro. (We usually ship the order very promptly). It is a time for us to think…

The importance of “Imagination” is one of core messages in our Sashiko. The ability to imagine “what if ” can lead us to be more caring to each other. I believe we are all “born good”, not “born evil”. To be more precise, what I want to share is the…

class=”instagram-media” data-instgrm-permalink=”https://www.instagram.com/reel/CEbydT3JB5N/” data-instgrm-version=”14″ style=” background: border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% – 2px); width:calc(100% – 2px);”>  2020-08-28 09:11:55 Source
