This Asanoha Sashiko Pillow has been my dream since I had decided to devote my life in Sashiko. I visualized it in 2018. I made it happen in 2019. Then, I was planning to release it in Spring 2020 (and then we postpone it until today). Not because of the design. It is because of who stitched it.

We add the Sashiko items stitched by our friends who took Atsushi’s workshop/class. Not only by one superstar. Many rising artisans are part of this project. It has been my dream to make Sashiko somewhat “Sustainable”. Sharing stories & wisdom is one path. Offering a Class/Workshop is another. In addition to that, I want to support the “rising artisans” who wish to make Sashiko from a hobby to somewhat “(professional) craft”. It took so long to make it happen because the quality of the product cannot be compromised.

運針会でご縁を頂いた方々と、「教えた側、教わった側」という立ち位置を超えた繋がりを頂いております。2018年に構想を具体化し、2019年に形になった、「運針会卒業生による作品」。コロナ禍でご紹介が遅れてしまいましたが、漸くご紹介することができました。資金が潤沢に有るわけではないので、お買い上げ頂いた金額を見つつ、様々な作品を作り続けることができたらと思っています。「お金を払ってでも欲しい」という刺し子ができる人が一人でも増えること。それは刺し子を残す為にも大切な一欠片だと思うので。
