This is an archive of Sashiko Live Streaming in English, on Friday September 24th

I received a question about the “pattern” in Sashiko. I talked about the meaning of the pattern, origin, and rule in several geometric pattern. Also, I shared my insight about the “modern” pattern in Sashiko.

Sashiko is not the word for the pattern. To be honest, there is no such a thing as “Sashiko pattern”. They are just Japanese geometric patterns. In my understanding, Sashiko is the word for “process” – and it continued as the word to described the result of Sashiko stitching process.

I also talked about the thread & how to keep it in a good shape (The detail can be found on Youtube tutorial video).

At last, I made some bitter comments, and made difficulties over.

Since this is the account to share the Sashiko in form of the Japanese culture, even if it makes us uncomfortable, there are messages I need to (would like to) share. Today was one of those.

I realized another point in sharing Sashiko after today’s live streaming.

I will share the message later on.
