I sincerely appreciate a lot of support in the previous issue. “You are sexist (misogynistic)” was the last thing I expected to be accused for, and my whole body shut down after the Live Streaming yesterday. Big Thanks to my wife for letting me rest.

Seeing “Cultural Appropriation” makes me sad. Facing people who twist my words (read only what they want to read) makes me angry. Being accused of misogynistic was beyond my description (fury, rage, tell me if there is another word for it). I was so emotional that I broke my body, I guess. A gender issue is something I pay attention the most – because it was (has been) my pain as well. I will admit if I made a mistake – however, being accused of the topic I am the most careful is beyond rude.

Please do not refrain yourself commenting on my writing, though. If you find it “wrong” after deep consideration, please point it out. I usually have “reasons” for phrasing it (ex. using the description “mother and daughter” instead of “parent and child”), but I of course make mistakes. In the mistake, I humbly apologize and correct (ex. Japan as a single ethnic nation and Ainu). I will try to explain when I get a message I don’t feel good, and most of them are good with mutual understanding & respect. This sexist comment was just beyond because it was not even about what I said in the video…

Due to this “accident”, my health is still in recovery. Some of the work I need to complete may be delayed by a bit. The reply to the emails may be delayed as well. I will do my best to work over the weekend to catch up. Thank you for your support & understanding.

Oh, thank you for continuing to share. It’s so difficult being in the public eye, but you are modeling great humbleness and we can all learn how to process difficult words/feedback better, even when it is not just or fair. Thank you thank you🙌❤️
amazing work💕
People project their feelings about themselves onto others. It is never about you or anything you may have said or done. It is only about them. Know that you are not the reason for what they accused you of. Be well. ❤️
Get well soon 😊
I would like to say something comforting to you but I think it’s all been said in the above comments, especially Murdochlinda. So I’ll just add, Let it be and then let it go.
吐き出した後はゆっくり寝てください😊
The same sensitivity that feeds creativity also makes artists/artisans feel deeply. It’s both a blessing and a curse, but even the deep hurts inform our art going forward. Take time for you 💙.
I didn’t find your video offensive at all, and it seemed like you were mostly describing getting “lost in the process”. It’s impossible to know what is going on in another’s head, but wounded people sometimes lash out. I am not saying the commenter is wounded, but the comment does make you wonder a little bit. I will play devil’s advocate a little though. I wonder if you mean “confide” more than “complain”. “Complain” is a bit pejorative in English whereas “confide” is neutral. I don’t think what you said was offensive though. I understood what you were trying to say.
sounds like you know your truth. rest there. take care. volatility is all around us. breathe. loving awareness. loving awareness. loving awareness. – ram dass
😢❤️ get well soon
💕
Cultural appropriation makes you sad but you have no problem selling what you do so that makes you a hypocrite.
😢
Don’t let the haters get to you. They will always find something to use against you, even if they have to make it up. Mostly they are unhappy people just looking for someone to take it out on.
Your sharing of Sashiko gives many people joy and insight into the Japanese way of life and thinking. In these challenging times, it is such a welcomed retreat.
