I am a Sashiko artisan. On top of that, I am a big fan of other Japanese traditional crafts – especially fabrics & threads. For that, I am a quite good collector. I used to enjoy antique market shopping (I haven’t been back to Japan for 7 years…. Oy Vey). When I see something beautiful & “sincere”, I always try to have them close to me. Sashiko, boro, Katazome, Kasuri, Shima-Stripe, Natural Dye… it is an endless happiness.

I am thinking of listing some of the collections that I have in the U.S. via the Upcycle Stitches store. In this strange & crazy time, having a business is not so easy. Well, it isn’t easy for many people. I will keep updating what is available for sale (what I decide to price on). It is my pleasure as a collector when the items go to someone who cares them as much as I do.

In order to be a stone in the current trend (by archiving many stories), I prioritize writing stories in English more than anything. At the same time, I also work on the actual process of “preserving”…

In the last 6 years, many have found what we offer & they “chose” us to give a try. I am very grateful to those (you) who made a purchase, and left reviews. An accumulation of reviews is a gem that I receive in this business. The more I read…
