It is not only Sashiko I had received from my “family”. In fact, Sashiko was merely a burden in my childhood, and my main interest was something else. I am not ready to share the “something else” since it is “too Japanese” to describe it. I am too scared to face to strangers with the specific stories I have received. However, one day, I would like to share that with Sashiko. It is very much connected to Sashiko as well (of course). The Japanese “ordinary” is somewhat fascinating to non-Japanese. It is my privilege that I had enjoyed my childhood with talking to those many ordinary “grandmas’”, and I could not help but “listen/learn” because of my childhood. The Japanese is so weird (in a good way).

I have Never said, and I will Never say that non-Japanese practicing Sashiko is painful to me. That being said, if you think C/A is a real issue, then please don’t worry about it too much & enjoy Sashiko as you do now. Please educate me if I say something…

For me, “Tradition” is an accumulation of Stories. We have one fact as “History”, but there are millions of Stories around it. Sometimes, people use the word “Tradition” to describe “Outdated”, “Old-Fashioned”, “Stubborn”, and “Obstacle to Change”. Then, the opposite side of “Old” including these words “Creative”, “Flexible” and “Innovative”…

I appreciate all of the messages for the previous Story announcing the cancellation of the last Live Streaming. I feel better enough to have a Live Streaming this morning (in Japanese). Since I do not have a sense of “Full-Recovery”… or since I don’t even know how many days I…

Japanese culture is not weird. It’s beautiful and honorable (to me). Thank you for sharing it.
