Thread DOES Matter in Sashiko, so use the Sashiko Thread offered by a long-established thread manufacturer. After you get the “good” thread, then please try to use the good needles we recommend. There are many reasons why we keep using (keep asking manufactures to make for us) for years.
☆
Many friends & students tell me how “spoiled” they become after using the needle. I am happy to keep offering such a great quality needle & supporting the needle manufactures to keep making them. Since it is all hand-packaged, the package itself looks unstylish.. But the quality is above an expectation – isn’t it like Sashiko?
☆
Both of the Sashiko thread & needles are available in our store – Upcyclestitches.com.

I share why it is so important to use the “Appropriate Sashiko Thread” in your Sashiko project. Thread does matter, and it is because of the purpose of stitching. If the purpose is different, then the Sashiko project requires different types of fabric. ☆ I have been longing to introduce…

yes to both of your recommendations – good tools and materials make such a difference. and again and again – thanks for the wonderful thread you offer, it is special to work with it and such a joy. as for needles – which brand do you recommend? i’ve been using tulip needles and really like them, but i’m always curious to try other quality needle brands.
