It has been very stressful days with worry and fear. However, one Sashiko Live Session made me smile so much. We had the 9th Live Session for the Online Sashiko Class, where the students can make sure their learning with me being online – checking their stitching over the Zoom.

I enjoy their excitement. They are happy to learn the rhythm of stitching, and then results of their rhythmical stitching – even with comparing the one before & after of taking the class. Everyone has a different hand – so watching the videos may not complete the learning. Although I am proud of the quality of videos, a tiny bit of advice can make a huge difference. That’s why I am here.

Sashiko is very popular now. Anyone can get “A Sashiko Set” from non-Sashiko related sellers. Fine. If filling a pre-printed line to make perfect stitches is Sashiko for them, enjoy “that”. The core of Sashiko is not there, and I am very happy that my students are enjoying what I offer. One can stitch 5~ time faster after learning in the Online Class… the faster you stitch, the more you can “enjoy” and practice to be better. I am here to share what I had received – not a “quick” instruction. ☆

英語でのオンライン刺し子クラス、第9回目の確認会でした。やっぱり僕は、「人が変わる瞬間」が好きなんだなぁと思うのです。あるアドバイスをした瞬間に全く別人になった方がいて。顔つきでわかります。あと、喋らなくなる（笑）「淳、煩い。今楽しんでるんだから」っていう雰囲気が出てきます。運針、簡単なんです。でも、少しだけとっかかる場所があると、ハマります。英語圏での刺し子は、「完璧じゃなくていい」「スローを楽しむ」という代名詞になりつつありますが、それは本質の真逆を行っています。少しでも早く（補修をし）、少しでも綺麗に（着飾り）、少しでも豊かに……という、貧しかった日本人の刺し子が原点だと思うので。 ☆
