In Sashiko workshop & Online Class, many ask me “is it good stitching?”. I understand that it is a very natural question in learning something new – to be better. However, my attention goes to how you enjoy the stitching itself. Even stitches, beautiful stitches, accuracy, the results are of course important. However, the perfect result does not always make the Sashiko piece attractive. We sincerely believe the Sashiko reflect who the stitcher is, especially those who stitch for more than decades. The fabric talks on behalf of the stitcher like Keiko’s works do. It is my goal to share that Sashiko is more than just making stitches. ☆

昨日の一枚。「本当に凄いね！」と素直な気持ちを恵子さんに伝えたところ、照れた返事の代わりに、沢山の写真が返ってきました。まぁ、そうよね。刺し子の写真、溜まってはいるよね。ゆっくりと沢山のSashiCoの作品を紹介していけたらと思っています。

「面白いかどうか」「驚いてもらえるかどうか」が恵子さんの刺し子の核にあります。上手か下手か、綺麗かどうか、針目が揃っているかどうか、全てが勿論大切な要素ではあるのですが、同時に上手ければ良いとか、針目が揃っていれば良いというわけでもないのが、本当に刺し子の奥深い所だなと思うのです。極論、好みの話なんですけどね（笑）
