Knowing my friends are stitching is the motivation of me continuing. ☆
As days pass, we all realize how serious it is. Many experience the financial difficulties. Many have to adjust to the new lifestyle, either super busy with home-schooling or very empty without commuting. I can no longer update the Insta post around evening because I can only have time after 9 pm or so… and so scary how long it goes. I don’t have time to stitch much, but photos of my friends’ stitching lift me up. Today, the fact that the people who enjoyed my workshops & learned from my videos are enjoying stitching everywhere in the world is the motivation of me continuing. I am too Japanese to ask for financial help unless it is really very bad. However, (or therefore), please respect the Japaneseness of Sashiko. In this kind of crisis, one culture can be repainted (or discontinued) very easily. Your mindful choice will help “Sashiko” go. Thank you.

“Teaching” is a great opportunity for teachers to learn what they teach when “Teaching” actually remains the form of “Teaching” instead of transforming to “Entertainment”. (I believe there are different kinds of learning in Entertainment. Entertainment is good. False Advertisement/Presentation is the problem). Conversations with new friends (Sashiko Class participants)…

“Share Sashiko”. “Pass down the Sashiko culture”. It is easy to say, but quite difficult to make it happen. I have a 30 years long strategy (toward 2050) – to pass down the Sashiko, based on my 10 years in Sashiko business. The core of this strategy is to raise…

This is more like my imagination… but I believe Sashiko was sort of “Alone Work” in the Japanese Ordinary. They stitched for the family – and it was their “own” time, almost private time, to talk to the fabric, needle, and themselves. Then, they probably had time to get together…
