I received a question. “Do you offer a certification to teach Sashiko?”. As of now, I do not. I may make a program to teach “how to teach Sashiko”, but I do not plan to make a certification. Anyone can teach the Sashiko they learn from me, either In-person workshop, online class, or even simply watching the videos and reading stories here. I have many recommendations in supplies/tools to protect the industry in Japan, but again, it is merely a recommendation. One can learn Sashiko from me without spending a penny, if they are willing to learn.
☆
This is my commitment when I decided to share Sashiko. If I focus on “money”, then I may need to twist what I believe in. As of now, thanks to my family & support on Patreon & many friends and thoughtful customers, I can choose to focus on my beliefs instead of “surviving”. If you can, therefore, please care for the others who are in need. If my family & friends, especially kids, are in pain, please be kind to them. That’s what I would like to leave to my daughter, the society with a bit more care for others. In the process of enjoying Sashiko, one will develop the ability to care. Sashiko will give them a lot of time to think, and the “thinking” will end up either caring or judging. Since I ask them not to judge themselves in Sashiko, they enjoy Sashiko with care… That’s one small contribution I would like to make in this world. Sashiko is not about making one perfect stitch. It is a process of thinking someone/something, and oneself.
☆
Enjoy Sashiko.

We did the first-time, Keiko & Atsushi, Sashiko Live Streaming on Youtube (Planned on Instagram but we couldn’t login). Since we both speak Japanese, the whole live end up with speaking Japanese. I would like to translate some of the scene later on so we can share some good conversation…
